My SISGP Journey
Hej,
This is my first blog post and I would like to dedicate it to share my journey on becoming the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals or SISGP awardee.
I applied for this scholarship in 2025 and got it on the first try. God sent me the help through Kak Rosi, my mentor, who encouraged me to apply for this scholarship because Sweden is a good country to live and study in.
Initially, I wasn't sure whether to apply for this scholarship as I was too focused on achieving the Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS). I have put my effort and energy into preparing and applying the AAS 2025.
Until one day, I booked a mentoring session with Kak Rosi to discuss AAS and ended up preparing for SISGP.
I only have a week left, if I am not mistaken, to look for the courses that are compatible with my experience. It was early January, and the deadline for applying to the university admission in Sweden was mid-January. I spent 3 days finding the university and courses, reading through all the requirements, and then preparing for all the documents needed.
Btw, lucky me, although my IELTS has just expired in November 2024, they still accepted it since it was only a few months prior to applying.
These are the university and the courses I applied to
The application fee is 900 SEK (Swedish Kronor), converted to IDR is around 1.5 M. We can select up to four courses with the same amount of fee.
Then these are the important dates, you need to know when applying for study in Sweden. This is the autumn semester date if you wish to apply for SISGP otherwise, you are welcome to apply for the Spring semester.
After applying the course, you can just pray and prepare for the SISGP documents.
These are the important dates for you to remember if you wish to apply for the SISGP 2026
Let's start the SISGP journey!!
I registered to the portal immediately when it opened. Fill in the forms, download the template document. But before it all, I already asked my previous company and colleagues for the proof of work and leadership docs as well as letter of reference. You need to provide 2 letter of reference, 1 from the organization or work, and it is mentioned that the second one would be perfect if it comes from your involvement in a social organization.
As for me, I asked my team in my organization and the lead of my current social activity to provide the reference.
